Volunteer

You have arrived at the page detailing volunteering opportunities at Treflach Farm and we are very glad you have!  We rely on the kindness of strangers (and those a little more familiar!) to help us with almost every aspect of the day to day running of the farm.  From gate-swinging to form-filling; from cattle-chasing to chicken-coop-repairing; from mucking out the pigs to simply mucking in;  Your help really is invaluable to the small, permanent team here on the farm.

We cater for volunteers in various ways:-

Periodically we hold volunteer weekends.  The emphasis here is definitely on the mucking in as opposed to the mucking out. The first two of these have been a great success.  With a beautiful Mongolian Yurt to sleep in, full board – including a Hog-Roast and plenty of Stone-House Brewery’s local bitter to drink, our volunteers wanted for nothing!  Many hands made light work and there was a distinctly social air on the farm over these weekends.  Click here to see the photos or email us for details of our forthcoming grandest weekend yet.

We are also happy to receive longer term volunteers – perhaps gap year students – who would like to assume a more integral role in the running of a particular aspect of the farm.  If you feel that the opportunity of living and working on a farm for an extended period of time is something that you would like to try then do contact us to discuss some options.

Finally, if you have any specialist skills that specifically relate to any of our future projects and would like to offer your time and expertise on a voluntary basis then, please, do contact us.
